Very electric guitarists Mike Baggetta and Anders Nilsson – two of the stars from June’s fifth-anniversary Sound It Out “Monk on Guitars” show – return to the series to perform together, alongside the rhythm section of bassist Jerome Harris and drummer Satoshi Takeishi. Guitar master Elliott Sharp has hailed Nilsson’s “unique sound: brooding, dramatic and filled with surprises,” while The New York Times praised Baggetta as a maker of “stealthy, mysterious music… something personal.” Along with original music by Baggetta and Nilsson, the band will explore material by Frank Zappa, James Blood Ulmer and John Abercrombie.
