Bass clarinetist Jason Stein, a notable presence on the Chicago avant-jazz scene, will be visiting New York City to open for his sister (Amy Schumer) at Madison Square Garden. He’ll also be playing the slightly more intimate space of Greenwich House to celebrate the release of the first album by his trio Hearts & Minds, with Paul Giallorenzo and Chad Taylor. All About Jazz has said of the leader: “Stein is exhilarating, a young master of his fiendishly difficult horn – a player to look out for.”
